Friends of Different Learners is pleased to sponsor our annual CAMP AND RESOURCE FAIR 2009 on Thursday evening, January 15, 2009, 7-9 P.M. at Groves High School, 20500 W. 13 Mile, Beverly Hills, MI 48025. (Park in the West Lot)
Friends of Different Learners is a district-wide, independent organization dedicated to enhancing the education of Birmingham Public School students who have different learning styles, strengths and abilities. Our meetings and membership are open to everyone.
This Fair is an information vehicle servicing families seeking programs that accept children with special needs. This year again, we plan to include service providers who offer camps or programs in the summer and throughout the year for children in both self-contained and inclusion environments. The Fair will be held at Groves High School in Beverly Hills, MI.
Over 100 camps and programs from across Michigan (and a few others in close proximity to this area) have been invited. Last year we had representation from about 50 camps and over 150 families attended. Each organization attending the Fair will have a display table manned by a camp representative along with printed information. Some will bring an informational video of their camp as well. Friends of Different Learners is excited to offer this service to parents. Learning about qualified and appropriate summer programs can be challenging and frustrating. This event has grown into a valuable resource for families of children with special needs.
